Rickenbacker® Model "Ace"

Rickenbacker Model Ace

Model "Ace"

The ACE was named after the aviator Eddie Rickenbacker, a "flying ace" and a relative of the Rickenbacher guitar makers, and also the reason for the change in spelling of the company name. It doesn't have the traditional horseshoe magnet, being a student model this was done for economy. It came out in 1948 and was only available a few years, there are also different colors in this model, including red, white, and blue plastic. At one time Adolph Rickenbacker intended the Ace model to replace the Model B.
